Relating Problem & Solution Structures
Theme: Requirements Engineering and Design
Web: Permalink to this page

Work in this theme looks at tools and techniques for exploring the problem context and requirements, which provide:

  • a description of the problem in a form fit-for-purpose for building a solution;
  • tracking of the context as it changes, and its impact of the problem;
  • tracking of the requirements as they change, and their impact on the problem.

It includes research on:

  • foundations: reference models and semantics
  • techniques: Problem Frames, AFrames, Composition Frames, Change State Model, Problem transformations
  • applications: Socio-technical systems, distributed trust management, forensic analysis
  • process models: co-development of requirements and architectures, relating problem and solution structures, prioritisation and change management
